6 Strategies for Maintaining a Healthy Relationship With Food
Cooking, strategic grocery shopping and allowing yourself occasional treats are good approaches.

Do you have a healthy relationship with food? It may sound like an odd or superfluous question. You don’t have to worry about your breakfast's feelings, whether your lunch loves you or if your dinner is about to break up with you.

But many people struggle with an unhealthy relationship with food and dieting, says Erin Clifford, a wellness coach based in Chicago. For some, that involves cheating on a diet by secretly consuming such diet-busting foods as chocolate chip cookies, muffins, ice cream, fried chicken and hamburgers.

There is so much info on the net these days about eating healthy, and that's great.

In my view, the #1 key is don't be a slave to your taste buds. Often the worst foods for ya are those that taste the best, and unfortunately the best foods for ya sometimes taste like chit.

I eat extremely healthy and have trained my taste buds to enjoy the foods that are healthy for me. It's a mental process. For example we all know how bad that soda such as Coke and Pepsi are for our health. Mentally, I just couldn't drink a glass of that slow poison chit any longer, so I've basically trained myself not to do it, rather than crave it and then eventually ya succumb to it.

May sound a little crazy, but it works for me, and I am in perfect health. BTW with all the different healthy foods out there today, especially organic, even organic seasonings are out there now, it's not nearly as hard as it used to be to eat healthy and eat enjoyably at the same time.
