In tax debate, Ted Cruz aims to make Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren the face of Democrats

Ted Cruz spent Wednesday night's nationally televised tax debate portraying his counterpart Bernie Sanders, along with the Senate's other top liberal, Elizabeth Warren, as the face of the Democratic Party.

The CNN debate was supposed to be about the Republican tax plan. But, starting with his opening comments, Cruz tried to reframe the conversation to focus on the Vermont senator's vision of transforming the U.S. into a high-tax country with Nordic-style social democracy.

"Bernie and the Democrats want every one of you watching today to pay more in taxes," Cruz told the audience in his first comments.

Cruz is the Liberals and the Establishment's worst enemy.

It was a great debate.  Ted Cruz was, as usual, a skilled debater, while Bernie threw out the same tired, socialist talking points, all of which are untrue.  It was enjoyable to watch Ted demolish socialism/communism.  Unfortunately, Ted's points will be lost on the commie indoctrinated young people who make up most of Sanders' base.

With Cruz in the senate and Trump in the Oval Office promoting tax reform we could possibly getter done by early December, if the rest of congress would just get off their asses.

Ya gotta love Ted's sense of humor!  The debate was great and Ted's skills are simply unmatched by Bernie.

Well, are they not? Obama is term-limited (thank God) and Hillary Clinton went over like a lead balloon, so what other recognizable names do they have?

Bad examples of communism/socialism:  East Germany, Cuba, North Korea, Venezuela

Better examples: Norway, Denmark, Sweden, etc.

Ted's arguments use the bad examples very effectively (I have used them for decades). But young people in America also know there are surveys claiming those in the "better examples" are quite happy.

Therefore we (Ted too) need to be able to counter this.

Norway is loaded with oil. That oil has allowed them to do stupid economic things without the usual consequences. When prices dropped Norway took a big hit.
