CAIR’s Congress? 3 Democratic candidates you need to know about

This election season, there are several candidates running for office who are connected to the terror-tied Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR).

The group positions itself as a modern-day civil rights organization for American Muslims, but that’s far from the truth. CAIR, which has been declared a terrorist organization in the UAE (an Arab-Muslim country), was founded by members of the Muslim Brotherhood with the goal of raising funds for the Hamas terrorist organization. Additionally, the organization was named an unindicted co-conspirator in the largest terrorism financing case in U.S. history.

And this year, the nefarious group is attempting to move individuals sympathetic to its causes into the halls of power. These individuals include:

Nadeem Mazen

Mazen, a Cambridge, Massachusetts, city councilor, announced earlier this week that he was stepping into the ring to run for the open seat in the state’s 3rd congressional district, which covers northwest Boston......

Abdul El-Sayed

Dr. El-Sayed is running for governor of Michigan. The up-and-coming Democrat has been profiled to great fanfare as “The new Obama.” The child of Egyptian immigrants, El-Sayed has in the past received a fellowship from members of the far-left Soros family.........

Deedra Abboud

Abboud is running to become the next U.S. Senator from Arizona.

Like Mazen, she is formally connected to CAIR, having served as the director of its Arizona chapter. CAIR Arizona officials have previously shared messages referring to the U.S. military as “occupiers” and “murderers.”.....

Media reports indicate that the 2018 Senate seat, which is currently occupied by Senator Jeff Flake, is vulnerable to a Democrat takeover. The Democratic primary will take place in August 2018.

Let's not forget that CAIR is/was an unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation terrorism scandal a few years back.

Welcome to creeping Sharia in our own country and what scares me...is in our own Government as well.

Welcome to creeping Sharia in our own country and what scares me...is in our own Government as well.

.....In May 2007, the U.S. filed an action against the Holy Land Foundation (the largest Muslim charity in the United States at the time for providing funds to Hamas, and federal prosecutors filed pleadings. Along with 245 other organizations, they listed CAIR (and its chairman emeritus, Omar Ahmad), Islamic Society of North America (largest Muslim umbrella organization in the United States), Muslim American Society and North American Islamic Trust as unindicted co-conspirators, a legal designation that can be employed for a variety of reasons including grants of immunity, pragmatic considerations, and evidentiary concerns. While being listed as co-conspirator does not mean that CAIR has been charged with anything, the organization was concerned that the label will forever taint it.

In 2007, the organization was named, along with 245 others, by U.S. Federal prosecutors in a list of unindicted co-conspirators or joint venturers in a Hamas funding case involving the Holy Land Foundation, which in 2009 caused the FBI to cease working with CAIR outside of criminal investigations due to its designation CAIR was never charged with any crime, and it complained that the designation had tarnished its reputation. It has also been criticized for allegedly publishing propaganda.

In response, National Association of Muslim Lawyers and National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers sent a letter to Attorney General Alberto R. Gonzales, saying that the move to list the largest Muslim organizations in America as unindicted co-conspirators was an effort to smear the entire Muslim community. They also stated that the list breached the department's own guidelines against releasing the names of unindicted co-conspirators.

On October 22, 2007, the Holy Land Foundation trial ended in a mistrial.CAIR stated that the reason for the mistrial, and no convictions on any of the charges, was that the charges were built on "fear, not facts." All defendants were convicted upon retrial in 2008.

In 2008, the FBI discontinued its long-standing relationship with CAIR. Officials said the decision followed the conviction of the HLF directors for funneling millions of dollars to Hamas, revelations that Nihal Awad had participated in planning meetings with HLF, and CAIR's failure to provide details of its ties to Hamas.  During a 2008 retrial of the HLF case, FBI Special Agent Lara Burns labeled CAIR "a front group for Hamas." In January 2009, the FBI's DC office instructed all field offices to cut ties with CAIR, as the ban extended into the Obama administration.

True.  Is it any wonder that they want to get rid of our Constitutional right to defend ourselves?

Unfortunately there have been cases where the lower courts have sided with Sharia.  As a note, Wikipedia has cited that there are 6 congressmen that have alleged ties to Hamas.

I think it was Texas that passed a no foreign law legislation.

People poo poo that this is happening.  But it is and if we are not careful we will be dealing with the same problems Britain has.

I need to get busy and write or call my legislators as FL isn't listed. There are eleven states—Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, Louisiana, Kansas, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee and Washington—that prohibit the use of foreign law in their state courts. In 2017, seventeen states have legislation on the subject. The table below lists the legislation. Enacted legislation is in bold. ....

Yes.   I guess Texas wasn't the state?  Seems funny that we would even need it because Sharia is contrary to our Constitution

Supremacy Clause

“This Constitution, and the Laws of the United States which shall be made in Pursuance thereof; and all Treaties made, or which shall be made, under the Authority of the United States, shall be the supreme Law of the Land; and the Judges in every State shall be bound thereby, any Thing in the Constitution or Laws of any State to the Contrary notwithstanding.”
