LOS ANGELES — Chanting slogans and standing atop bunk-bed frames, protesters temporarily blocked traffic near the federal building in Westwood today as part of a series of demonstrations coinciding with the deadline for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals recipients to renew their work permits.
The protesters are “fighting for our right to be human,” one demonstrator told reporters as he stood in the intersection around 10:30 a.m. “… We’re here as refugees from all different parts of the world.”
