After London Game, Fox Sports Will Not Air National Anthem

Fox Sports says they will not air any live anthem coverage from any other game except for the London contest between the Miami Dolphins and New Orleans Saints.

Last week, the network aired the national anthem from games as more than 250 players took a knee during the anthem to protest President Trump calling for NFL players to be fired for what he says as disrespect to the flag.

The Tennessee Titans and Seattle Seahawks chose not to even leave their respective lockers during the anthem.

Don't know about football because I can't stand the sport, but they rarely air the Anthem ceremony in Baseball.  Not airing it, no matter what, will do a lot towards stifling the stupid protests.

I heard somewhere recently that it's only been a decade or so that the players even came out of the tunnel before the anthem.  Keeping them in the locker room would completely remove the kneeler's platform AND keep the anthem more public for all of us.

True, but most local stations just use it for an extra 30 seconds for ads.  I think I hear it in about 1/3 to 1/2 the games.

My guess is the players will use the next best public forum they have available to them. Taking a knee when the bailiff calls for everyone to rise for the judge at their rape/murder/woman beating/stolen gun/drug court cases.

True. Without TV coverage, who would know or care about phony political protests, vulgar TD dances (I'm looking at you, Antonio Brown) or some of the other childish stuff these guys do.

That's why I say that this stuff is the real reason people are boycotting,  the Anthem was merely the "Final Straw",  throw in the Billionaire owners,  the high ticket prices,   the fleecing of tax payers, and the general decline in the quality of the players, skill-wise.  I also think the concerns about the after-effects of football on the health of players has had an impact.

I love watching and hearing the anthem, but I guess removing the national platform for the kneelers is a pretty good idea.

You are right.  It used to be that people looked up to a superior athlete which also had good morality and character like a Roger Staubach or at least a rugged macho-man presence like a Mike Ditka.

The deterioration of the typical pro player has been witnessed for the past several decades by pro football fans. It certainly could be that these fans are saying 'enough is enough' and simply tuned out now.

I love it as the dimwits are actually forcing the loss of revenues and ultimately their own jobs.  They will then have the opportunity to pursue their true calling in life, flipping burgers or even more likely, incarceration.

I didn't watch any football yesterday - a first for me. Imagine my shock to find out Cam Newton, et al., actually beat the New England Pattycakes. Of course, Cam - the really super-dooper oppressed QB - displayed a Black Power salute upon scoring a TD, I hear.
