There are also fruit-picking machines being deployed experimentally in California - which if viable, will potentially replace tens of thousands of migrant workers. See, the 'Crats have shot themselves in the foot - forcing minimum wage increases to $15 hourly forces owners to consider less costly labor - like machines.

California fast food restaurants are also in the loop for removing a significant percentage of their employees and replacing them with machines - for the same reason.  Cost-per-hour of operating a machine replacing the work of three or four employees each day is significantly less than cost of employing human beings - even when one factors in the start-up cost of machinery.

Unintended consequences anyone !?!
