Rapone posts under the handle @punkproletarian and is a member of the Democratic Socialists of America.

Under the hashtag #VeteransForKaepernick, he tweeted an image of himself raising the left clenched-fist of solidarity, support and resistance as well as the message, “Communism Will Win” taped inside of his West Point uniform cap. Also visible in the photograph is Rapone’s Combat Infantryman Badge–meaning he has fought in active ground combat.



So between Jihadists in our military and now open Communists - I'd say we were in heap, big trouble kemosabe.

Images of U.S. infantry Officer Spenser Rapone reached a popular military news site on Tuesday and set off a robust debate on NFL national anthem protests, the former San Francisco 49ers quarterback that started it all in 2016, and the shock of seeing an unapologetic communist from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.

“I could be wrong, but I’m pretty sure Colin Kaepernick wasn’t protesting in favor of communism. #ThatGuy,” wrote “Doctrine Man,” the moderator of a well-known Facebook page frequented by active military personnel and veterans.

Readers were shocked to see Mr. Rapone, whose Twitter handle is “Commie Bebop,” raising a clenched fist in support of Mr. Kapernick; another photo featured the officer revealing a Che Guevara shirt under his uniform.

LawNews confirmedMr. Rapone’s identity Monday evening with the officer himself, but he said was on a field exercise until Friday and would be unable to comment for the time being.

The U.S. Army has opened an investigation into West Point graduate Second Lieutenant Spenser Rapone for appearing to openly advocate for communism on social media.

Pictures of Rapone in uniform at West Point promoting pro-communism messages spread wildly around the internet Monday, in effect forcing West Point to issue a statement in response. The statement noted the Army has launched an investigation into Rapone’s activities.

“The U.S. Military Academy strives to develop leaders who internalize the academy’s motto of Duty, Honor, Country, and who live the Army values,” West Point said in a statement released Tuesday. “Second Lieutenant Rapone’s actions in no way reflect the values of the U.S. Military Academy or the U.S. Army. As figures of public trust, members of the military must exhibit exemplary conduct, and are prohibited from engaging in certain expressions of political speech in uniform. Second Lieutenant Rapone’s chain of command is aware of his actions and is looking into the matter. The academy is prepared to assist the officer’s chain of command as required.”  ...

If I recall correctly, all commissioned officers are issued a security clearance, is that correct?
If so, his should be revoked immediately.

Frankly, I think Mr. Trump should "go public" with this, as such:

Announce that Lt. Rapone has 48 hours to tender his resignation. If he does not do so within that allotted time, he should prepare to face Court Martial for treason.

Then see what happens next.
But... be prepared to remove this man from service if he won't go voluntarily.

Trump just won big with the "negro-kneeling" brouhaha.
He can roll another big win with the military by following up with the Rapone case.

On Bigun's recommendation a few weeks' back, I dug up the book "Blacklisted by History" about Senator McCarthy and the investigations of his era.

The government was rife with communists and fellow travelers back then, and it's amazing how the democrats (even back then) conspired to keep them from exposure.

It's no small book, but I'm workin' my way through it!
