It would seem to me a lot of people have become incredibly self-important, which is its own kind of crazy.  I'm betting this will have an impact on the league financially – it's just a matter of how much.

Its all bread and circuses.  Created controversy to polarize and get people at each others throats. This is the entertainment industry after all. They are playing their roles just like WWE wrasslers. Good guys, bad guys, and fans screaming and taking sides.

Shad Khan, the billionaire owner of the Jacksonville Jaguars who locked arms with players in solidarity as the national anthem played before their Sunday game, previously donated to President Trump’s inauguration.

Standing with the players puts Khan in apparent opposition to Trump, who this weekend attacked NFL players for failing to show enough respect for the national anthem.

Federal Election Commission (FEC) forms released after Trump’s inauguration in April show Khan donated $1 million to Trump’s inaugural committee.

This was in Jolly Olde so Goodell probably couldn't if he wanted to.

What was the audience reaction to the kneeling, arm-locking stunt? Did anyone catch that reaction, unfiltered?

I find it ironic that the one professional sports league that is composed almost entirely of American citizens is that one that is the most disrespectful to the flag.

Major League Baseball has a lot of Latin and Asian players
The NBA has a lot of players from Europe
And the NHL is primarily players from Canada and Russia

Yet they show more respect for our flag than these NFL punks do.

I think a lot of folks in Jacksonville this morning are thinking the team can stay in London for good, for all they care.

The fact they even got the team was a joke in the first place.  Both Carolina and Jacksonville were a disorganized mess in the expansion bid.  Baltimore had earmarked money from their state lottery for 14 years after the Colts left.  They also had Memorial Stadium to use, until the new one was completed.  Roselle and Cooke (then Redskins owner) colluded to keep a team from being brought back so close to D.C.

These are all characters playing a role. They are getting the exact reaction they want. IMHO, this is like getting angry and screaming at the TV over what someone does on a soap opera or who wins the latest dancing with duck bachelor shoes.

Me thinks there is a rule that teams must be on the field so many minutes before kickoff, hence the rundown clock.
