Islam is the alternative to not being oppressed.  Now that's funny
I would bet not one black person out of one hundred knows the history of Islam and black Africans.  Maybe they would change their minds about Islam being the religion for black people.

Character still matters.  It always matters.

I wear a mask as an exercise in liberty and love for others.  To see it as an infringement of liberty is to entirely miss the point.  Be kind.

As I posted in the other thread, Trump's going to win on this.

More than just "a win" -- it's going to become an easy win for him.

This is a direct calling out of the other side. That side is going to be defined even more as being anti-American -- or more correctly, anti-traditional-American.

And certainly as anti-white, also.

Let's see how the ratings go for the NFL in the next few weeks to come.
I wouldn't be surprised if a large number of the white football audience simply is fed up and tunes out.

Love it!

Like I said, the Steelers deserved to lose.  Perhaps if they had their mind on the game instead of being social justice warriors, or whatever they're supposed to be, the Steelers might have won.

As an aside,  one of the local TV stations in Pittsburgh showed a longtime Steelers fan setting his fan stuff on fire in protest. Yes, the fans have a right to protest too.

Exactly! People are already focusing on it, rather than his recent failings in immigration ("The Wall" being the part already built), healthcare, funding Planned Parenthood, etc.  Big win.

Hid in the locker room like litle girls, only one guy stood.

The little girls I know stand proud for the national anthem.  I've seen them nearly come to fists arguing over who gets to carry the flag for the start of the rodeo.  They audition for the privilege to sing the national anthem in front of the crowd.

This issue is great for the Republican Party. Democrats always over-play their hand.

An example is the Steelers hoped to avoid controversy this weekend by having the team stay in the locker room during the playing of the anthem. Well, here comes Alejandro Villanueva walks out on the field and stands proudly with hand over heart.

Oops. Suddenly there’s stark contrast staring viewers in the face. It’s as if someone turned a spotlight on the differences. Then afterwards the lemmings react with negative comments to their teammate standing for the National Anthem!

The anti American democrats versus the patriotic war hero! This whole thing is tailor–made for republicans.

I dislike Tom Brady, but will applaud him for standing during the anthem - left arm linked with a teammate, right hand over heart (just saw a photo of it).

Mike Rowe: If Fans Want NFL Players To Stop Kneeling, They Should Turn Off The TV.
Quote
... I was disappointed last night, to hear President Trump encourage owners to fire players who refuse to stand for the anthem. Not because I dispute the owners’ right to do so, and not because I would grieve the dismissal of anyone who chooses to disrespect our flag. I was disappointed because the President’s comments presuppose that the owners are in charge of the game. They’re not. We are. We decide what to watch, and that decision – far more than any other consideration – will determine the what the owners choose to do. And that in turn will affect what the players choose to do.

As the leader of the country, the President had an opportunity to remind us that The NFL, the networks who broadcast their games, and all of the players – standers and kneelers alike – work for us. He might have also used the occasion to remind us that he too, serves at our pleasure.  ...

The worst SNF has performed this season so far, that’s an 8% dip from the early numbers of last week’s Atlanta Falcon’s 34-23 win over the Green Bay Packers. Gaining cheers and boos from fans at FedEx Field in Maryland last night, the third week of SNF for the 2017-2018 season declined 10% from early numbers of the comparable game of last year on September 25, 2016.

And the Raiders and Redskins are two teams with huge national followings, so this is significant.

Excellent point, @thackney !  Thanks for bringing that up.  ^-^

The owners come to the community every 20 years or so and ask taxpayers to ante up hundreds of millions of dollars for stadiums. I think it's time to take a knee.

Yes, but those incorporated locales, are predominantly minority democrat socialist enclaves. It is how the bacon gets delivered.

The actual source of the money is probably white suburbs and rural places, that have actual productive economic enterprise, beyond welfare & food checks.

Maybe Redskins will lower their $55 parking fee (+$17 service fee from Ticketmaster).

That's cheap compared to Jerry World.
