Mere hours after Hurricane Irma, Miami-Dade County was ticketing residents for building code violations on their wrecked properties.Celso Perez was helping his neighbors remove some fallen trees blocking their street when a county code enforcer rolled up and issued him a safety notice for having a downed fence. "I laughed," Perez tells WSVN-TV. "I thought he was kidding. 'You are kidding right? We just had a hurricane six hours ago.'".....http://reason.com/blog/2017/09/19/hours-after-hurricane-irma-miami-dade-co
It doesn't appear there were actual fines issued.Identifying the safety hazards as priorities of repair is not a bad thing.
If you think that you're an idiot. Perhaps a month after the storm sure but 6 hours? The scale of the damage and disruption is beyond belief. Whoever directed this should be flogged.
Safety items should be resolved prior to pick up debris.
Since when is a downed fence a safety issue? I guess he should have stopped helping to clear a road (a real safety issue) to repair his fence huh?
We don't need a govt beaucrat for that bs. How can you claim to be a conservative?
Since they were working on the debris in the street first, it appears those individuals did need someone to help identify the safety hazards.
Go away with you govt knows best baloney.
