That's just their usual bait & switch routine.  We cornbread purists will never NEVER fall for that.

No quarter given to the enemy within...ever.

Cornbread has feet?

Course he does!  Size 16 IIRC!  His real name is Joe Willie Jackson but no one has ever called him that!  He's always been just plain ole Cornbread!

He's make a damned fine president to!  NO BS with Cornbread!

Back to the topic at hand (because I really don't want to read 15 pages of squabbling)-

Does no one find it disturbing that the 'new normal' is to assume that Democrats can handle crisis spending and management better and thus, they are the ones we must deal with for important issues?

The Republicans had a spending plan that included hurricane relief that did not give a blank check for all future spending (removing debt cap).

But here we are, now just blindly assuming the answer to any problem is government getting involved on a massive scale and spending massive amounts and handing the keys to the Democrats who are the kings at over-spending and wasting 90% of what goes in.

Somehow people's hatred of Paul Ryan is resulting in handing Nancy Pelosi the keys and assuming she is a better driver.

It seems to be the new normal for "conservatives"...

Oh I don't know.  One and two of your fellows who have a hate-chubbie for Cruz seem to have no problem calling his supporters cultists and Cruzaders and the like.

I'd say the mood gets set quite regularly by those who first and foremost are about the task of shaming anyone who does not genuflect your leader.

Let my posting history show that not even once, did I have a negative thing to say about Ted Cruz.

...'cept maybe once about his oily hair.

Next to Donald Trump, Ted Cruz is a mosquito bite on the forearm.  NBFD...as Biden would say.   I don't care.

But I can understand the tired and redundant argument on Cruz' eligibility, etc..  Rather stick a finger down my throat.

I am a Conservative. I don't think handing the Democrats the keys to the vault is a good idea--I didn't when the last guy was in the White house.

Trump just blew it.

He had an opportunity to use the Presidential Bully Pulpit and take this to the people. He could have had a short presser, and told the American People how important this was to get relief to the people affected by hurricanes, and that as soon as the Congress quit playing games and trying to tack things onto an aid measure and passed a clean bill to fund it he'd sign it.
That would have forced all those scalywags on The Hill to put something out, or he could gig them for being a bunch of uncaring, posturing, self-interested types unworthy of reelection. Turn it on the Congress and make them jump.

Nope. He went hat in hand to the Dems, setting precedent that they could get whatever they wanted if they held some vital piece of legislation hostage.

Some deal. Some dealmaker. **nononono*

That's why "conservatives" is in quotes. They are conservatives in self proclaimed name only. They tell us over and over they are conservatives, more conservative than you or me, while doing these leftest things and completely clueless as to the consequences. All "to get things done"...

Cornbread is cornbread. What makes the difference is the amount and type of the cornbread topping slathering.

So what it comes down to is this. Are you a slatherer?

I didn't realize we had to step behind the screen, 'drop trow' and measure our 'Conservatism'.

Who the hell made one such as yourself, arbiter?

While I am a staunch fiscal Conservative, today, half the country would support the government rounding us up as 'Domestic Enemies'.

Right now, the term is "Irredeemable Deplorable".   As late of today, she refused to take back that statement when given the opportunity.

Therefore, I'll put my Social Conservatism on hold and trust President Trump to prime the economic engine with attractive tax cuts and tax credits for hiring.

I just received a signed baseball by Dan Larsen, dated 10-8-56, with the inscription "WSPG." And it is also signed by his catcher in that game,Yogi Berra!

I also have another ball signed by Mickey Mantle, the opposing pitcher in that game.

Oops, am I on the wrong thread?  Sorry.  I don't know how to delete yet! 8888crybaby
