However, if I remember right, Myst cleared up the "intent" and that being disruptive to the general discussion on the thread versus meandering topic of conversation that isn't meant to disrupt and won't lead to a thread being locked?  I can see a difference.

Of course, @RoosGirl ... I can too!

But after a full page of pies and pecans....   come on, man.    ^-^

LOL!

Well, maybe it was where I had picked up the thread since my last visit.

I suddenly find myself reading the same 3-4-5 people nipping at her, belittling her, etc..

When it happens on a couple threads during the afternoon, "savage" works for me.

Very well.  Carry on then..... *****rollingeyes*****

What about the ones in the middle....or rather, the ones that don't fit in the NT or the AT camp (like me)?

Seems to me .....those might be the vast majority of folks in America ....

but I could be wrong....lol.

Who, specifically, made a quick exit?  Also, who is to say they won't come back.  You did.

Freedom928, is one I recall. He left after a quick opus complaining this was a leftist site, and Reagan's picture on the home page was deceptive.

Of the veterans there are many: flowers, longmire, MACSOG, haven't seen Lando around, Mesaclone had been very active but no more. Many more. Just look at the membership list and forum stats. Lots of familiar names, gone.

Some probably wearied of the personal attacks on their character or just felt uncomfortable with the tenor here.

Savaged???   You call "that" savaged?????  Holy keerrap, but you apparently lead a very sheltered life.  Or...maybe it's just a case of....  hyperbole much?

Savaged is appropriate @XenaLee ... I've a been a personal target of the NTs for two years.  I keep waiting for y'all to stand down because you must know by now..... you can't kill this messenger.   ^-^

@corbe

The ATs were bad during the election but have calmed down significantly.  Sure there is still an occasional post that's pure propaganda but far fewer.  Now it's the NTs who can turn every single thread into a cesspool with a comment about the wall or some such garbage.   I know the NTs froth at the mouth with the comparison but i really dont care.  I have no interest in fighting an election thats done.  Its time to look forward and do better next time.   People who cant / wont move past it are hurtiing America and can go to Hell.

Hurting America was nominating a lying fool to head the party leaving it a contest between that and the totally corrupt criminal Hillary. And when you are reminded of that choice you claim it is an attack against America. You chose the "lesser" evil and now you have it. We all have it... And frankly the people who did this to us should be called out on it. You don't want to be reminded of "the wall" but it was "the wall" that justified all that was wrong with Trump. Everything else was ignored THE WALL was all important. You were played like a fool and don't want to be reminded of it. To bad.

@driftdiver first and foremost if there is a Hell, as the scripture so indicates, I will be there roasting long before you are, based on age alone.

I disagree with your assertion that the NT'ers (whatever that is) are screwing up Threads, sure there's a few BUT it's all free will, and the AT'er's also pull that crap, neither are as prevalent as some here (like you for instance) like to indicate.

Now, remember the complaint was about the pie discussion.  If people felt a "pack mentality" from all the pie talk, maybe they're too sensitive to post here or anywhere.  They should just stay off of the internet if they're that sensitive.  I feel badly for them.

@Sanguine

Did I refer to pie in my post?

Anyone care to comment about the often quick disappearances of newly arrived members who happened to have been Trump supporters?

We get lots of new members, some very bright and articulate. Yet, many make a quick exit once they go a few rounds with our resident NTs. That is disheartening.

Because they want a Trump worshipping echo chamber.  Not a forum that discusses Conservative ideas.
Fart for freedom, fart for liberty and fart proudly.  - Benjamin Franklin

When the people give way, their deceivers, betrayers and destroyers press upon them so fast that there is no resisting afterwards. The nature of the encroachment upon [the] American constitution is such, as to grow every day more and more encroaching. Well....with all due respect.... since this is by no means a "leftist site"... not even close.... perhaps the real reason he left was more due to his delusional perception (just a guess) of things?

Don't know about the others you mentioned ....but I suspect they left due to butt-hurt feelings about the forum having 'changed' by allowing folks that are anti-Trump to post here too.  No more safe space and "freedom of speech for me but not for thee" here.

It was their option to stay or leave.  Right?

:facepalm2:

Yep

Why is it such hideous sacrilege to discuss pies, and be off topic, when fomenting the NT/AT war again, tediously, without end seems to be okay, even if it's off topic, too?
Or is it just civil discussion that's the problem?

We could spend endless pages flogging the dead horse of how utterly stupid, how tone deaf, how unpopulist the immediate turn to the political enemies of conservatism in complete prostrated capitulation was. How that established a precedent the Democrats are banking votes with even now, and will in the future. How unnecessary, when all he had to do was pop a presser and say to the PEOPLE that as soon as the Congress put a clean and unencumbered relief bill on his desk he'd sign it. It would be in Congress' hands, and the whole bloody lot would be in the hot seat.
Or not. That's the third time in two days I have articulated those points, and they are ignored for the most part.
So, what's to discuss?

PIE! Something many of us like and fun to talk about.

But that's not enough drama, devoid of opportunities to tongue lash people from the comfort of your keyboard.
D@mnit, it's so hard to be a dark cloud in a sunny sky!
What is the purpose of dragging this off topic from a pleasant topic (PIE!) right past Trump's dumbassed capitulation to his former donor recipients and others, to an unpleasant sniping and bitching version of being off topic?

Or is it just to wreck a thread where people were having too much fun?
How God must weep at humans' folly! Stand fast! God knows what he is doing!

Because they want a Trump worshipping echo chamber.  Not a forum that discusses Conservative ideas.

@INVAR notice how they leave out the ones that left because they complained about this place being too pro Trump.  There's a few names they left out that are on that particular list.

Both extremes want the other to shut up and go away...they both want echo chambers... @XenaLee hit the nail on the head...the majority here are NOT to the extreme on either side of the Trump debate.

And neither is the country.  Most want to give him a chance or the benefit of the doubt...but he's his own worst enemy.
