Dr. Pielke Jr. slams linkage of Harvey to climate change as ‘political opportunism & attention seeking’

Extreme weather expert Dr. Roger Pielke Jr. issued this statement:  "There is no reason to be debating Harvey and climate change in the context of an unfolding disaster, other than political opportunism and attention seeking. It's not a good look for scientists or journalists who are promoting this issue. The IPCC and other assessments are quite clear on this subject and one storm doesn't change that. A better focus in the short term is on those with expertise in disaster response and recovery. The politicized debate over climate change can wait."

Pielke Jr.: Obama's presidency "had the fewest landfalls per year of any President since 1901." "President Obama saw four hurricane landfalls. President George W. Bush saw 18. Obama had the fewest landfalls per year of any President since 1901. Lucky." He added: "George W. Bush had 18 (4+ per year). Obama had 4 (0.5 per year)."

Great work there.

The ecoparanoia faction long ago gave up using actual facts. They find more usefulness in mendacity, obfuscation, tampering, distortion, corruption and outright fabrication of facts. Most recently, they seem to rely almost exclusively on lies. I guess they figure that if they lie ALL of the time with great conviction and urgent, faux sincerity, some of them at least will be believed by a significant number of voters.

Sadly for the AGW fanatics, the percentage of voters who say that they are concerned enough about the issue of climate change to vote for candidates based upon that goes down in every election cycle.

The endless shrill, bald-faced scare-mongering of algore and his cohorts is not and never has resonated with any significant percentage of the U.S. voting population. It is generally only favored by leftists in government and those who pander to them.
