“Homes can be rebuilt but lives can’t,” he wrote. “Nature warning us again of the impact of #climatechange. We must all do more to combat this.”
I wonder what he would have us do? Stop flying?
Yes. Stop flying. I did. Now I float like a butterfly.
"You're also talking about 2 of the most flood-prone cities in the U.S. - Miami & Charleston. Both flood during full moons let alone storms"https://twitter.com/ericfisher
Full moon and New moon bring 'spring tides', the most extreme tides. Add a storm surge to a badly timed high tide and it gets really messy.
It will be closer to Last Quarter than to Full by the time it hits the mainland, wherever that is.
https://weather.com/storms/hurricane/news/hurricane-irma-bahamas-florida-georgia-carolinas-forecastIt's not looking good right now guys. Unless this thing takes a hard starboard turn in the next 24 hours, it looks like the current trajectory puts it right on Florida, like a bullseye. I hope something happens soon that turns it north.
Hoping this isn't too late ... with a note to include any prescription drugs ...ESPECIALLY those scheduled for refill during the next week or requiring refrigeration (get a cooler and ice packs).
I grew up in Jupiter and my mom still lives just north in Tequesta. She's got shutters on all her windows, but she's only about 1/2 mile from the intracoastal. She says she isn't leaving.
What an excellent presentation:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XwW6ZWaQ4bs
She's got spunk!
LOL. I think she's too annoyed with the traffic to get in it and come stay with us. But you've probably been through enough hurricanes now to know that if you leave the hurricane ain't coming to your house.
I was told by friends it took like 14 hours to get from Tampa to Tallahassee today. WTF is that all about?
Thanks Suppressed it was a good presentation..easy to follow without all the weather lingo..lol
