GOP Mastermind Arthur Finkelstein Dies at 72August 20, 2017 Washington, D.C.- Emerald Robinson, Political CorrespondentMany conservatives are mourning the loss of a GOP mastermind who quietly passed away this Saturday–the man without whom some say there have been no President Reagan. Republican pollster, consultant, and strategistArthur Finkelstein died of lung cancer in his Ipswich, Massachusetts home. He was perhaps the most successful pollster and political consultant in American history.Finkelstein pushed Ronald Reagan to emphasize the Panama Canal Treaty and helped make Reagan a nationally known politician as he lead his comeback against Gerald Ford in 1976 in the race for the Republican presidential nomination. He worked with presidents Richard Nixon and George H.W. Bush. He was also well known for his work in New York politics- the election of Conservative Party Senator Jim Buckley, Hempstead town supervisor Alfonse D’Amato’s upset election and re-elections to the United States Senate, and little known State Senator and former Peekskill Mayor George Pataki’s defeat of Governor Mario Cuomo in 1994 and later re-election campaigns. He won numerous senate races throughout the United States, including in Florida, where he engineered Senator Connie Mack’s iconic 1988 victory and his re-election in 1994.Continued: http://www.oann.com/gop-mastermind-arthur-finkelstein-dies-at-72/
