Occupy Democrats, Buzzfeed, and Breitbart least trusted. Reuters, The Economist, and PBS the most trusted.

....Maybe it’s the accent. When it comes to news, Americans deemed British media more trustworthy than their U.S. counterparts in a world where “fake news” has emerged as an ideological battle cry and less of an oxymoron.

The most trusted news source in the U.S. is The Economist — a weekly magazine published in the U.K., according to a recent survey from the University of Missouri’s Reynolds Journalism Institute. .....

An interesting note on this, If you look at the media outlets that just try to throw the cold facts out there with little editorializing run the most trusted, the more editorializing and propaganda oriented (left and right) are least trusted. Shows people really do want just facts they don't want to be told what to think.

@AbaraXas

That's why I don't care about having a "conservative" news network.  I don't see why it's necessary.  We don't need to be told what to think.  Just give us the straight news, period.

What I see is a definite separation between types of media.

Print media and government-subsidized broadcasters rank near the top of the list. Internet sources are near the bottom, with commercial national networks not far behind. So, a left-wing rag like The Guardian can get high remarks for trustworthiness, while Yahoo!, which doesn't have a lot of original content and generally simply republishes newspaper and wire articles, gets seen as untrustworthy.

It's interesting to note that supermarket tabloids like the National Enquirer are not included in the survey, perhaps intentionally to avoid exposing a glaring pro-print bias.

Oh, and I might also note, with the previous post in mind:

Marketwatch is owned by Dow Jones. Dow Jones, in turn, is owned by News Corp. News Corp divested its broadcasting assets and now specializes in—you guessed it—print media.

Follow the money.
