We're Texans so we knew Cruz but nobody else did.  He's pretty famous now and I think he could beat Trump ... if Trump weren't the incumbent, but that gets you a bunch of points right there.

I don't think Cruz would try it.  He's young and he will be president someday.

You need to stop obsessing over the fact that I didn't vote in the Presidential election.  A lot of people who could have voted chose not to do so.  I couldn't because I had just moved here.

If I had still been in Texas, I think I would have voted for Trump if it came right down to it.  I opposed him bitterly during the primary, but I think I would have looked at the other choice and pulled the lever for trump.  Or marked the ballot of whatever we do these days.
