Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., said Wednesday President Trump is showing weakness by how he is handling problems with Attorney General Jeff Sessions.

"The weakness is that the president is trying to not use his power, he is trying to get Sessions to quit. And I hope Sessions doesn't quit. If the president wants to fire him, fire him," Graham told CNN on Wednesday morning.

"You think the president is demonstrating weakness by his handling of Sessions?" CNN reporter Manu Raju asked Graham.
"Absolutely. I think anybody who is strong would use the power they have and be confident in their decision. So strong people say, 'I've decided that this man or woman can't serve me well and I'm going to act accordingly and take the consequence,'" Graham added. "To me, weakness is when you play around the edges and you don't use the power you have."

A number of Republican senators have sided with Sessions as Trump has tweeted concern about the top Justice official's job performance this week.

I'd say more like fear. He really doesn't want Mueller looking at his finances in a fishing expedition, and continuing to jab Sessions because he recused himself, to get someone in there that will fire Mueller really telegraphs that. Though Sessions does need some chiding, Trump's overplayed his hand.
The Republic is lost.

Yeah, the left will now proceed to focus on getting Trump's tax returns released so they can find a "gotcha" in there and use that against him.  I have to say, I was for him having to release the returns previously.... but after the constant leftist assault for the past 6 months, I am now ok with him not releasing them.  Screw the leftists.

Neither am I really. It's not Mueller's business either unless he's got proof of financial impropriety with the Russians.

Trump is just making a bad tactical error, he's telegraphing the wrong message by pushing so hard on Sessions, assuming this isn't all misdirect.
