Two GOP senators to vote against ObamaCare repeal-only bill
The Hill, Jul 18, 2017

Republican Sens. Shelley Moore Capito  (W.Va.) and Susan Collins (Maine) said on Tuesday that they will not support moving forward with the plan to repeal ObamaCare with a delayed replacement.

"My position on this issue is driven by its impact on West Virginians. With that in mind, I cannot vote to repeal ObamaCare without a replacement plan that addresses my concerns and the needs of West Virginians," Capito said in a statement.

Collins said that she is still a "no" on proceeding to the House-passed bill, which would be used as a vehicle for any Senate action.

“We can’t just hope that we will pass a replacement within the next two years. Repealing without a replacement would create great uncertainty for individuals who rely on the [Affordable Care Act] and cause further turmoil in the insurance markets," she said.

She added that she's recommended Sen. Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.), the chairman of the Senate's Heath, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee, "begin to hold hearings to examine ways to fix the many flaws in the ACA so that it will work better for all Americans.”

Didn't Rand Paul already say he is in the "Nay" category?  Think McConnell has already admitted defeat in another thread.

If no one has noticed, the loser Collins is now running for Gov of Maine. She is only worried about buying Leftists votes in her shithole of a welfare state.

Then they must cap the subsidy pool amount now.  As premiums continue to rise, people receiving subsidies should be affected just like the rest of us.

Expel them from the caucus and strip them of all committee assignments.

This needs to be a litmus test. If you do not oppose this bill enough to end it, you are not a Republican. If that means losing the majority, there never was a majority to begin with.

End. This. Now.

@Right_in_Virginia

From CNBC, and hour ago....

The latest version of the bill collapsed late Monday when Lee and Moran joined Collins and Paul in promising to vote "no." Those defections doomed the measure in the Senate, where Republicans enjoy a slim 52-48 margin. Democrats remain unified in their opposition to the GOP reform measure."

"The current system is terrible," Paul told Fox News on Sunday. "I don't think Republicans should put their name on this (bill)."

Paul is a professional idiot. So he thinks they are not going to be blamed for doing nothing to stop Obama care just because they didn't vote for it years ago? What loser thinking.

The quote from Paul is for the old version ... the one that collapsed.  The repeal only version should have had Paul's support.

The Senators coming out against repeal only are:  Murkowski, Collins, Portman, Capito.   It appears every option is now dead.

Obama, Pelosi and Schumer dance in the aisles!

Yep - thanks for giving us a President who can't even rally the troops around an Obamacare repeal.

You guys screwed the pooch. Big time.

Your anger is better directed at Murkowski, Collins, Portman, Capito

As much as you want to, as much as you need to .... you cannot blame the President for them.

But you know that @bolobaby   You know that.

Bzzzt.

You know why it is called "Obamacare" and not "Pelosicare" or "Reidcare?"

Maybe I should let you figure it out on your own...

Naw. Never happen. Better spoon feed it to you.

Because OBAMA provided the leadership necessary to get his bill passed without a single GOP vote.

The only thing Trump leads is his Twitter account. He's a joke. He can't rally the GOP around something that just about every GOP candidate supposedly campaigned under - repealing Obamacare.

Trump. Is. A. Joke.

You screwed the pooch putting him there. You can shift blame all you want, but when frickin' OBAMA - the community organizer - provided better leadership for his party than we are getting out of Trump, the writing is on the wall:

You elected a clown. Own it.

Not true.  Obama sat back at the white house watching TV while Pelosi and Reid got it done.  He had zero input.  He and Trump are a lot alike in that regard.

Nonsense, Obama couldn't lead a troop of carpenters to build a gazebo.    Its named Obamacare because he was the President and the puppet masters decided he was a good figurehead.

Puppet masters. Right.

Say what you will about Donald Trump, but if there were some sort of shadow government in place, things wouldn't have changed. Even though it's not for the better, this is not the Obama administration in charge now. There are no puppet masters. Obama is just that evil.

Still waiting on Trump to actually lead from anywhere but Twitter.

Your posts indicate too much anger and too little understanding of our political system.  Here's what trouble me about this combination @bolobaby .... you have both a keyboard and a voter registration card.

Thank God an angel still directs this whirlwind.   :0001:
