Beautiful, clean skies tonight so we could head out back and watch the launch. It was cool to see it, but really can't compare to the old Shuttle launches.
The SLS launches will be like a Shuttle launch as they also use SRBs. https://www.nasa.gov/sites/default/files/atoms/files/8690_sls_solid_rocket_booster_fact_sheetfinal03072015_508.pdf
Thanks! I've had a hard time finding info on the NASA website about launch times. The last one just had info about it being in July, no date specified. I didn't know it was going up that day until hubby got home and told me he had heard on the radio it was going up.
I found 2 sites that may be helpful:https://spaceflightnow.com/launch-schedule/https://www.nasa.gov/missions/calendar/index.html
