Johnny Depp on Trump: ‘When was the last time an actor assassinated a president?’
By Stephanie Merry and Lindsey Bever June 23 at 9:47 AM

Johnny Depp was the Glastonbury Festival’s inaugural guest at the new Cineramageddon drive-in theater, and he certainly gave the place a memorable launch. While introducing a screening of his 2004 movie “The Libertine” on Thursday night, the actor made inflammatory statements about President Trump.

“I think he needs help and there are a lot of wonderful dark, dark places he could go,” Depp said, according to the Guardian.

He then asked the crowd: “When was the last time an actor assassinated the president?”

The answer is John Wilkes Booth, who shot and killed Abraham Lincoln at Ford’s Theatre in 1865.

“It is just a question — I’m not insinuating anything,” Depp assured the crowd. “By the way, this is going to be in the press. It will be horrible. I like that you are all a part of it.”

I'm surprised this was not posted here; a big news stories. The Washington Post in this case, directly uses his words in the headline. Most every other story I have seen says he jokes about assassinating the president:

etc.

Also, what a boor to do this at a respected music festival, that being Glastonbury in the UK.

I doubt a chicken sh*t blowhard like Depp is going to do anything, especially after the secret service gets on his ass.

My avatar shows the national debt in stacks of $100 bills.  If you look very closely under the crane you can see the Statue of Liberty.

Depp reportedly spends $30K a month on wine. He did sound a little wasted. What a jerk. I wouldn't pay a nickel to see any of his movies.

At an appearance in England on Thursday, actor Johnny Depp joked about assassinating President Trump.

Depp was at a drive-in movie theater in Glastonbury, where he introduced his 2004 film The Libertine, when he began talking about the president, according to The Guardian.

“When was the last time an actor assassinated a president?” he asked, referencing John Wilkes Booth assassinating President Abraham Lincoln in 1865.

“I want to clarify, I am not an actor. I lie for a living,” Depp said. “However, it has been a while and maybe it is time.”

I have heard celebs say some pretty awful things about our Republican  Presidents going back to Reagan. This tops them all. I hope the Secret Service takes this serious. Start by adding him to the no fly list so he fant come back.

Are YOU going to give it a try, Johnny?  I doubt it  But then. if you use enough mascara and eye shadow and act like your normal sniveling twit self, maybe any witnesses will think it was a pirate.

He's apologized but heck,

This is the trashiest behavior; none of us would say anything like this nor anyone in a lot of the towns and cities we are from.

This is just some Hollywood/elitist/left wing crap.

Johnny Depp Apologizes for Donald Trump Assassination Joke
Variety, Jun 23, 2017

Johnny Depp has issued an apology for a controversial comment about President Donald Trump, asking, “When was the last time an actor assassinated a president?”

“It did not come out as intended, and I intended no malice. I was only trying to amuse, not to harm anyone,” the actor said in a statement to People on Friday.
