The gun registry would work like a sex offender registry.
"It will require them to come into the police department and check in every 6 months. Failure to do so, failure to change an address or anything like that will result in a violation and what that does is set the clock back to zero, the list will run for three years," said Councilman Bob Williams, sponsor of the Gun Offender Registration Act.
If the offenders fail to register they could face up to $1,000 fines per offense, with each day not registering being a separate violation of the act.

They seem to not realize that criminal don't have guns that can be traced or registered 99.9% of the time.
