Gingrich says Mueller isn’t neutral, calls on Congress to abolish special counsel
June 12, 2017 | BPR Wire | Print Article

Juliegrace Brufke, DCNF

Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich called on Congress to stop special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russia’s meddling in the 2016 presidential election.

Gingrich said it’s clear that former FBI-Director James Comey’s testimony before the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence will interfere with Mueller’s ability to conduct a fair investigation.

Yeah.  Tell that to Scooter Libby.  The name of the game is to trip someone up under oath so that they make a mistake that can be used for a perjury charge.  You should know that by now.

Sounds like your philosophy is very much in line with the founding fathers.....   you know that whole 4th amendment, 5th and innocent until proven guilty thing they put in place.

Gingrich: Time to rethink special counsel Mueller
By Olivia Beavers - 06/12/17 09:08 AM EDT

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.) questioned early Monday special counsel Robert Mueller's ability to remain fair and impartial in his investigation into Russia's involvement in the 2016 presidential election.

"Republicans are delusional if they think the special counsel is going to be fair. Look who he is hiring.check [Federal Election Commission] reports. Time to rethink," Gingrich tweeted about Mueller, a former director of the FBI.

But we all sure liked the special counsel during the Clinton years.

Newt had nothing but praise for the guy when he was first appointed. Now he's done a 180. Which is it Newt?

I have news for Newt. There isn't anyone who is going to be neutral. I'm sick of politicians who change their ethics to whatever is politically expedient for them at the time. I'm getting whiplash.

@ConservativeGranny

You are correct.  One month ago, Newt went out of his way to glorify this man as being above reproach, the finest choice they could make.  Now, he wants him fired.

Maybe Newt is just a hole but I have to say that Comey seems to have had a lot of people fooled. If the current impression of him is correct, that is.

Newt changed his mind after seeing Mueller help his little buddy with his whiny self-serving testimony and who Mueller is stacking his team with - big dimocrap shills.

You could be right but I got a bad impression of the guy during the Hillary emailgate. I don't think most conservatives are a big fan of Comey. But Newt still seemed to think he was great enough to praise him on twitter more than once after he was appointed. It would concern me if I believed these supposedly smart people were so easy to fool. I just don't believe that. Especially Newt who has been around long enough to know what's what. It's politics to him IMO. I don't know whether we are supposed to believe these people are really smart and saavy politicians or idiots. The rules seem to change from day to day depending on what is going on.

One minute Trump is a brilliant negotiator and it's all about the "Art of the Deal" etc. But when he gets tangled up in a mess of his own making it is that he is naive and unexperienced which is what many were worried about in the first place when he was a candidate. It can't be both or whatever is convenient at the moment.

That being said I don't believe much of what Trump has to say either. I do believe that Trump tried to influence Comey and wanted him to drop the investigation. Whether it rises to the legal definition of obstruction or not that is Mueller's job.
Comey has his issues but considering what I know and see of Trump Comey's story is entirely in character. In any case I want to get to the bottom of this stuff and I believe that we must. Too many unanswered questions and too many coincidences.

As for the Russian interference in our elections this too must be resolved for the sake of our Republic and the integrity (at least what is left of it) of our elections.

Would it be preferable to stack them with big GOP shills? Or maybe choose who will do the best job politics aside?

The dems would scream bloody murder if it were stacked in the other direction. Like I said. You won't find anyone who doesn't lean towards one side or the other.

Everyone knew from the outset Meuller and Comey were tight.  That should have been enough to know he's not impartial.  Besides, the special counsel will always find something to justify the investigation.
I disagree.  Circle gets the square.

Yeah, because before Ken Starr was assigned to look into the Clintoons, there were people going to jail and crimes that were proven. Now we have absolutely nothing but a discredited report that Donny hired a hooker to piss on a hotel pillow Obama used.

Mueller and Comey are also Leftist hacks who hang around with Chuck Schumer, fabricated the lie against Gonzalez during the Bush years and have the credibility of Bernie Madoff.
