A west London shopping centre was evacuated and two men and a woman have been taken into police custody.

Fire crews and ambulances were also dispatched to Ealing Broadway Shopping Centre, West London, this afternoon.

Police also closed off and diverted roads, as reports suggest that a suspect package may have been discovered.

A video has emerged purporting to show police officers leading away a robed man wearing sandals, shortly after the shopping centre was evacuated.

A police spokesman said that the evacuation was carried out as a 'precaution'. It was reported that sniffer dogs were seen entering the west London shopping centre

Police say the evacuation was a 'precautionary' measure and that the shopping centre is expected to reopen.

A spokesman for the Met Police said: Police in Ealing were called to Ealing Broadway Shopping Centre, W5 at 6.10pm following a security alert.

'Specialist officers are in attendance. Local roads have been closed as a precaution.

'Two men and a woman have been arrested on suspicion of public order offences and taken to a north London police station for questioning.

Any update? I wonder what is considered a "public disorder offence."

They use a general term like that over here to charge/hold someone.   Someone spoke of it the other day.  But I forgot now.

It's a catch all term for any action disturbing the public peace. Can be anything from streaking to playing music too loud to drunk in public.

Not seen an update as yet.

After looking at the photos I get it.  "Robed man in sandals" sounded like the Second Coming.  It's actually a man in traditional Arab dress.
