@catfish1957

Not to quibble but we've been fighting them for about 1400 years.   Pretty much once he changed tactics to use rape, murder and destruction as preferred methods of evangelism.

Question of semantics I guess.   From a military perspective, Urban II's 1095 call to action was the first shot.

The purpose of the billboard was to sow hatred and bigotry toward a religion.   Not Islamofascism,  which is dangerous and must be opposed with every fiber of our beings.  But mainstream Islam,  practiced by a billion and a half worldwide and whose adherents worship the same God as you and I do.

If you disagree that the intent behind that billboard isn't malicious, then you're a fool or willfully ignorant.  The billboard is, as I noted up-thread, bigotry pure and simple.    And it's being defended with bigoted statements by a number of the posters here.  One, for example, labeled Muslims -  not Islamofascists, but ordinary Muslims  - as goatf**ckers.

That's sick and appalling.  Why it's being tolerated by the mods is beyond my pay grade, but it makes this forum look awful.

Why are you refusing to answer what is a pretty simple question?

And if TBR is so appalling to you, why are you still here?

Do they want to stay in Jordan?

Some do. Most want to go home once they know they're not going to get shot at.

Which is the difference between Jordan and the USA (or Europe for that matter). Jordan keeps the refugees seperate.

A moderate Muslim is the one who holds your feet while the radical Muslim cuts off your head!

I strongly disagree. Moderate Muslims in the US have nothing to do with radical Islam.

Why don't more of them speak out? They're afraid of being killed by radical Muslims.

Which makes them complicit with their head chopping brethren.

The lack of outcry by so called moderates  on 9-12 will never be forgotten.

Their book itself FORBIDS their doing so!

"I wish it need not have happened in my time," said Frodo.

"So do I," said Gandalf, "and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us."

That is very true, to a point.  But are moderate Muslims in the US afraid of radical Muslims attacking them in the US?

And, at a certain point, one has to stand up for what's right, even at personal risk, or else one becomes complicit.   Moderate Muslims are at that juncture now. If they don't start speaking up, they will have justified those who seek to hold them responsible for what the radicals do.

That answer is obvious to anyone who has been here for any length of time.

The posting history showcases jumping upon every single opportunity to bash Christianity and Christians on this forum while playing apologist for everything that attacks or condemns it.

The visceral hatred of biblical Christians is always made manifest.

Is it any wonder why we read the responses that we do?
Fart for freedom, fart for liberty and fart proudly.  - Benjamin Franklin

...Obsta principiis—Nip the shoots of arbitrary power in the bud, is the only maxim which can ever preserve the liberties of any people. When the people give way, their deceivers, betrayers and destroyers press upon them so fast that there is no resisting afterwards. The nature of the encroachment upon [the] American constitution is such, as to grow every day more and more encroaching. Like a cancer, it eats faster and faster every hour." - John Adams, February 6, 1775

Mighty Mo didn't have any luck spreading his newfound religion the peaceful way.  He only had about 15 followers.    Then he started raping, murdering and so forth.    Thats when I count because that is when he began to war against non-believers.

Very very very few of them speak out.  How many speak out against the radicalization happening in the mosques?

And what or who are they running from exactly?

A sect of their religion intent on killing them for being adherents to the wrong sect.

My bet is.... they are running away from the Religion of Pieces.

You know that most of the radicals get put on the radar after being reported by members of their own mosques, right?

Playing devil's advocate for a moment, quite a few recent acts of terror in both the US and the UK were committed by people that authorities DID have on their watch lists.

The most recent UK attack included at least one terrorist, that HAD BEEN reported by a muslim neighbor.

Is a British muslim citizen to risk being ignored by authorities, and fear recriminations from fellow muslims if he is found out?

The solution for the problem I pose, is for authorities to impose greater consequences, as Teresa May suggests.

Like it or not the time for internment or equivalents is near.

Yes. I've spent time in refugee camps in Jordan.

Really, @EC?

You must have had an interesting, adventurous life.

What were these refugees fleeing, if you don't mind my asking?

And, he started gathering converts, and in those who were attracted to that kind of activity.

Sadly "put on the radar" is a record keeping exercise, not a confinement exercize.

Yeah ok, and?

Does that change anything?   Do they ever stand up and tell the Imam, "NO, FGM is wrong."   "No, we do not need to kill non-believers!"

All I ever hear is crickets and a reminder about how peaceful they are.   Thats right after I hear 40% of them support sharia in the United States.

You guys are quite correct.  The largest breakdown has been the fact that governments on both sides of the pond failed to act on information once received.  The Boston Marathon bombing was famous that way, because Ohaha refused to act on the intel from Chechnya.

Makes sense to me.  Plenty of mainstream Muslims drop dime on the Islamofascists.  But if the government drops the ball . . .

The war in Syria. There's a thread around here somewhere about it.

This is my opinion as a poster and not as a moderator.

I consider @Jazzhead to be an important and valuable member of this forum and I highly respect his opinions.

Thanks, Machie - I appreciate it!    And that respect is mutual - you're a tremendous asset to TBR (and I know how tough it is to be a fair and impartial mod).
