With all due respect, @Suppressed
I've coached 10-12 Little League over many years.
A sheltered/protected eleven year old whose mother and father limit access to TV and cell phones would freak out.
Thank you for your respectful response,
@DCPatriot. My reply here is in that same spirit.
You mention "sheltered/protected", which is exactly one of the options I mentioned.
I've not coached 11-year-olds, but I've taught them in the classroom. I've also taught 7-year-olds. And the reaction described was more like a 7-year-old than an 11-year-old. So I believe the sheltered option might be right.
Also, some have suggested that Barron might have special needs. If so, there's nothing wrong with that at all..many children do. But it could also explain an anomalous reaction.
In any case, it goes back to "what did they have him watching, where this was shown?" and "Who provided the detailed reporting of his reaction?" and "Why do they think reporting the details of that reaction was good for the child?"
That said, you could be right this part of the story is manufactured.
I think this is the most likely explanation, rather than someone close leaking (a leak that would be obvious--not many would have seen the event reported) or the Trumps using him for political points (unless they manufactured it, of course).
