Melania Trump slams 'disturbing' Kathy Griffin photo
By Judy Kurtz - 05/31/17 12:01 PM EDT

Melania Trump is questioning Kathy Griffin’s "mental health" after the comedian posed for a “disturbing” photo holding a bloody prop meant to resemble President Trump’s severed head.

“As a mother, a wife, and a human being, that photo is very disturbing,” the first lady said in a Wednesday statement, according to reports.

“When you consider some of the atrocities in the world today, a photo opportunity like this is simply wrong and makes you wonder about the mental health of the person who did it,” Melania Trump said.

It is very disturbing.
Drudge has a headline article describing how the president's youngest son
was watching TV when he saw the hideous image of Griffin holding the
mock, bloody, severed head of his father and didn't know what to make of it.

What is most disturbing is that the last time the 'rats were so incensed over
a Republican president, it didn't end well.
And it was a man equivalent to a well-known Hollywood celebrity type of his period who perpetrated
the dastardly deed.

It was a totally vile and dispicable stunt.

But as for that story about Barron...

First of all, who reported this happening?  Is this a story just floated by Trump for political points?  I'm sure it was upsetting, but the detail given...well, who was in the room while they were watching TV that's saying this is what happened?  What was Barron watching?

Second, Barron is 11 years old.  Are they saying he's too stupid for his age to recognize this was fake (as the other thread claims)?  Or is he too sheltered?

Methinks it's a cheap political ploy.  Sure, it's disturbing, but I think they've exaggerated Barron's response in an unflattering way.  If so, that's not fair to the kid.

I think you're being too harsh on Barron.  His whole life has been turned upside down (as being the child of anyone being sworn in as president would be), vile things are said about his dad on a minute-to-minute basis, and I can see that for a moment he might just believe it. Even if he didn't, it indicates an alarming level of rhetoric.  And, he is only 11, and probably not very streetwise.

I find it hard to fathom the insensitivity coming from your of average nevertrumper on the subject of Barron's reaction.

It doesn't make me wonder one damned bit.  I already know that certain people in America are nuckin futz.  And they've been nuckin futz for decades.  It's just that now.... they're throwing trumpertantrums over their recent mega loss of power.   Expect more of the same from these cretinous POSs.

With all due respect, @Suppressed

I've coached 10-12 Little League over many years.

A sheltered/protected eleven year old whose mother and father limit access to TV and cell phones would freak out.

That said, you could be right this part of the story is manufactured.

This whole episode is disgusting, propagated by a disgusting and vile person.  It is entirely plausible Barron would be traumatized and it again points to the hypocrisy of Leftists when they say everyone's "feelings" matter.

I'm betting she really, really didn't expect that.  I bet she thought that they all think that way and would think it's funny.  Well, except for those flyover people and they deserve to be ridiculed.

Agree.

But notice the title says Melania Trump "slams" .....
Always a gripe of mine that an inflammatory headline is not supported by the story nor actual events. Of course, any liberal might see questioning the mental health of another liberal as threatening or a "slam".

It is a pervasive tactic in what passes for journalism.  Titles are often not at all supported by the information given, and those who count on sensationalism or have a grudge or an agenda to push rely on the fact that people read titles and headlines but seldom the whole story.

The question isn't even about Barron, to some degree, but seeing any depiction of someone you know being beheaded is disturbing, especially for a kid.

Pretty sick. Maybe the liberals should go to the Middle East and watch the show?

The kid is 11, and that isn't appropriate fare.

Barron is only eleven. to see such a thing when it is your father is totally different than a 11 yr old seeing the picture of someone he doesn't know. I don't care how may 11 and 12 yr olds you have coached. I raised three sons and know if they saw something like that about a father who has been a wonderful father to them they would be very upset and it could even give nightmares to them. My boys were tough sports guys and could be scary and nonsensical at times but they loved their father and me and would not take such a horrible picture in stride. She will not recover she never was much of a star before and I doubt will ever be again. Democrats need to grow up or stay out of the news they are really sick people.

I agree, @raml

Was merely presenting my firsthand experience with that age group over years as evidence that many indeed, would be traumatized.

Somebody found a video of Kathy Griffin getting into it with Elizabeth Hasslebeck on an old "The View", where she defended the attacks on the rodeo clown who dared to wear an Obama mask while getting thrown and chased around the ring.

Something like, "You MUST show a certain respect for the Office, if not the man".

....and then she goes does this.

Sad thing, SNL will probably have her hosting this weekend.
