Unless the mechanicals have been upgraded, 88 is fairly near top speed.

Thank you! and that's the 'by the book' top speed too. For such a beautiful car, they put in a totally crap engine.

It was a POS Renault motor if I recall that barely made 120 HP.

Had a moronic buddy that got a high compression Olds 455 shoehorned into a '76 Pontiac Sunbird back in HS. He dove it about a week until you couldn't close the doors anymore. The whole damn car twisted with that much torque. That was funny as hell.
