One of my MIL's friends worked for a number of years with several agencies that resettle refugees in this area. She quit because she believed agency policies were doing more harm than good for both the refugees and the Country. She says they are given a place to live, food, medical care, English classes, clothing, furniture, bus passes, etc. Within a few months, what you hear on a follow-up visit is, "Where is my big screen TV? Where is my car?" And they are not nice about it, demanding, angry, threatening. What really frustrated her is that the overwhelming number of young male refugees, drop out of school (or never start) and become criminals. Among female refugees, drop out of school (or never start and get pregnant.
