FBI 'warned MI5 in January that the Manchester bomber was planning an attack on Britain'

The FBI told MI5 that Abedi was planning an attack in Britain in January this year
But they thought he might be planning to assassinate a key political figure
MI5 investigated but 'nothing came of it' and he slipped down the pecking order
It will pile more pressure on MI5 to reveal when and how they knew of Abedi

Hmm....it seems that the FBI and MI5 are now in stiff competition with each other for the most incompetent award.  Both agencies have allowed perps that they were warned about and that were "on their radar" to go on to commit mass murders.  Amazing.  In a perfect world, someone would be fired, at the very least, over this.
No quarter given to the enemy within...ever.

Any bets on whether the leak by U.S. officials of the bombers name was a "Ha, ha, told you so moment"?

If it was, then it was in such poor judgment the leaker should be prosecuted and fired.

All the leakers should be, regardless, IMO.
