Jupiter’s Super-Weird Atmosphere Is Astonishing Scientists

NASA’s Juno mission has already made mincemeat of precedents and expectations. When it arrived at Jupiter last July after a five year journey, it was further from Earth than any solar-powered craft had ever been, and traveling faster than any other human-crafted object had before. Its flight path skims closer to the storm-torn gas giant than any orbiter preceding it. And it’s the first spacecraft to pass over Jupiter’s mysterious poles—finding, counter to most assumptions, that they’re blue, and lack the planet’s characteristic stripes.

I like Jupiter, but I will confess Saturn and Pluto are my favorite planets

I'm sorry, did Jupiter ASK the Scientific Consensus if it could have a 'super-weird' atmosphere? The science is settled. Surely we're not going to let Jupiter get away with this whole using facts and new findings to go against the settled consensus?
The Republic is lost.

"Super-weird" is a bigoted term! I, for one, welcome atmospheric diversity.

Yes, I keep forgetting Pluto isn't a planet anymore, but in my heart she is.

After all, she does have a ❤️ and she's pink!

And Saturn has blingy rings! And a hexagon! Two very girly planets.

(Neptune also has a lovely blue color too)

@supressed

Although I'd admit Uranus is interesting because of it's weird axis and dark rings. They are all pretty interesting except maybe Mercury. Being a Virgo, I hate it when that planet goes retrograde. Really messes me up! :(
