Trump Budget Based on $2 Trillion Math Error
« on: May 23, 2017, 09:00:20 pm »
NY Mag is correct that it is double counting. They are incorrect in continuing to label tax cuts as an expense.

Quote
One of the ways Donald Trump’s budget claims to balance the budget over a decade, without cutting defense or retirement spending, is to assume a $2 trillion increase in revenue through economic growth. This is the magic of the still-to-be-designed Trump tax cuts. But wait — if you recall, the magic of the Trump tax cuts is also supposed to pay for the Trump tax cuts. So the $2 trillion is a double-counting error......

Great.

I'll say it again: Wanna balance the budget? Zero-baseline the entire federal budget and post it online for everyone to look at. Suddenly, $60,000 coffee budgets for departments with 200 people in it will *disappear*.
How to lose credibility while posting:
1. Trump is never wrong.
2. Default to the most puerile emoticon you can find. This is especially useful when you can't win an argument on merits.
3. Be falsely ingratiating, completely but politely dismissive without talking to the points, and bring up Hillary whenever the conversation is really about conservatism.
4. When all else fails, remember rule #1 and #2. Emoticons are like the poor man's tweet!
