In 2015, Trump took aim at Michelle Obama not wearing a head scarf in Saudi Arabia, expressing concern that she was insulting the Saudis. In 2017, Trump visited Saudi Arabia with his wife, who was not wearing a head scarf.

Okay... we KNOW Trump is a certified hypocrite and is on every side of every issue for his own benefit...

But honestly.... does anyone here really care about this?

I certainly don't.

We have bigger issues to discuss amongst ourselves.

I suppose if the Saudi's end up revealing to the world how insulted they were  - we could have a discussion about Trump's not-ready-for-primetime international gaffes.

Right now, it's not an issue I'm really all that aflutter about.

The thing is, anyone who actually knows about the Saudis knows that the royal family is huge, and you will always have some offended while others are not.  Trump showed a lack of international understanding with his tweet.

I've been friends with an American woman living in Saudi Arabia for several years. She just returned to the states and says its not really that big a deal for western women to go without having their head covered. She says it is pretty much a solid requirement among Saudi women but many of the royals go without.

I agree with that completely. But the issue seems to be that Trump had an issue with Mooch not covering herself in a similar situation.

But it is just the media making something out of nothing. As usual.

And, Melania's truly grace under pressure.  The Saudis had her riding around hanging off the back of a golf cart on the way to dinner.  LOL!!

Yes, according to what I've read, women who visit the country don't have to cover their heads.  When you see some leftist female doing it, it's so she can feel good about her own cultural sensitivity.
