GOP senator: Flynn won’t comply with committee’s subpoena

Lawyers for former national security advisor Michael Flynn say he will not comply with a subpoena issued by the Senate Intelligence Committee, Chairman Richard Burr (R-N.C.) said Thursday, according to multiple reports.

The rebuffed demand was for documents related to the committee’s investigation into Russian interference in the presidential election.

Good for him.  He should just tell them to stick it where the sun don't shine.  This is nothing but a witch hunt.

How to lose credibility while posting:

This isn't the Clinton era ya know.   Look at Scooter Libby & the Valeria Plame issue, there was no crime but he went to jail.    This isn't about right/wrong or protecting America.  This is about politics and accumulating as much power as possible.

Apparently the rejection of the subpoena is a matter of debate:

Former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn in April told friends that he remains in contact with President Trump despite the ongoing investigation into Flynn's contact with Russia, according to a new report.

“I just got a message from the president to stay strong,” Yahoo News reported Flynn told supporters following a meal in Virginia.

Sources familiar with the conversation did not tell Yahoo the medium Trump used to deliver the message Flynn recounted during the discussion.

Yahoo’s sources added that Flynn has repeatedly dismissed the possibility of turning against Trump in exchange for leniency. He affirmed during the same conversation that he remained loyal.

I wouldn't comply either...I would let the Special Counsel handle it.

The more you testify the bigger chance you will compromise yourself....

I think I might do the same in the circumstances (designated fall guy), even if I were innocent.

Is he innocent?  I have no idea.  And, these committees are unlikely to get even close to the truth.

My money's on Flynn. He's been around DC and politics long enough to know how feckless congress critters are.
 
He really has nothing to lose by telling Congress to take a flying leap.

Some do know that this subpoena was issued by Republicans and possibly could lead to involvement in Hillary's campaign, right?

People just hear 'Russian hacking' and think it is the Democrats attacking Trump, just like they were getting all angry at the special council appointed yesterday without realizing he was appointed by Trump's own Justice Department.

Some care more about being anti-anti-Trump than they do getting all the information.

Wow, Trump will actually ride this into the ground? Flynn admitted to being an unregistered foreign agent and not disclosing this to the FBI when he was appointed to National Security Advisor. Then Trump tries to shut down the investigation...
