The willful ignorance displayed in yet another sundance lying screed is the real reason that people don't listen to anything negative against their Dear Leader, Donald Trump.
If it's bad, the immediate reaction is to blame the messenger; no consideration is ever given to whether it's true or not. It's automatically deemed false because it's against Trump. Trump successfully poisoned the well in the primaries, with a ready-made excuse for any attack: if it's from the left, it's the evil, liberal media; if it's from the right, it's sore losers and #nevertrump crybabies who are probably being funded by George Soros. It's all balderdash, but perhaps out of desperation, perhaps out of stubbornness and unwillingness to admit being wrong, the Trump caucus refuses to acknowledge reality.
It doesn't help that a few organizations, such as the Washington Post, have gone so far down the rabbit hole trying to prove that Russians were part of some nefarious plot to rig the election (how, they never actually say), actually giving legitimacy to Trump and his base when there doesn't need to be. There's enough trash out there on Trump that pushing this non-story only serves to further exactly what they claim to want to stop.
We are talking about the most self-interested, egotistical man in America, who has, for his entire career, thrived on attention. lust and power. The idea that he isn't is, simply put, a bald-faced lie only sundance could tell; even Breitbart wouldn't go that far.
