An Army veteran accused of killing her dog in North Carolina was found dead early Sunday and police are investigating the death as a possible suicide.

Marinna Rollins, 23, was out on bail for animal cruelty charges filed in Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office in April.

The retired veteran’s friends found Rollins’ body in her apartment around 3 a.m. in Fayetteville, according to city police Lt. Todd Joyce.

I don't know if I should even post these kinds of "downer" stories but what they did was clearly very wrong.

The story mentions that she suffered from PTSD, post traumatic stress disorder.

It sounds like she was "jllted" by her old boyfriend, she ended up with a new boyfriend, this Deng, who from photos I've seen almost looks bi-racial.  On top of all of this, they decided to go Michael Vick but anyone taking film of themselves doing such a horrible thing, I've got to question. She apparently had a few influences in her life that could have been factors.

Hostility, anger, self-destructive behavior, extreme anxiety and irritability are all symptoms of PTSD. All of those can lead to behavior which could be called sadistic.  Maybe she was messed up before and maybe just evil but we dont know that.  We do know she was diagnosed with ptsd.

Absolutely PTSD and evil are different.  PTSD causes people to make bad decisions and make irrational choices.  Perhaps its not the PTSD but the desperation those folks sometimes get into.

I doubt she was evil.   Probably just a very troubled vet who needed help and didn't get it.   I know many that have a very difficult time upon returning.    I don't know what she went through and am not going to judge.   She's beyond our judgement now anyway.

I won't judge her. She judged herself - harshly.

But a gentle comment - a person need not be evil to do an evil deed. Which is tastier to the Father of Lies and Corrupter of All - an evil done for the pleasure of the person doing it, or an evil done by a good person in a bad situation?

I wouldn't call a trouble veteran evil.  Since the only action you know of that she's done is shoot a healthy dog the comparison is fine with me.  Yes killing dogs for the sole reason being they aren't wanted is evil.
