I am in the health care biz..Time for medicare for all paid via payroll taxes. Run it just like Medicare with Medicare and dru7g supplements that cover the small stuff.
@mirraflake Either it will be exorbitant in price (read, astronomical), or will deny service, watch and see. This isn't about healthcare. It's about feeding the beast.
The new HC plan is a disaster. Insurance companies( I work for them) are going to cut pre existing and place those people in high risk pools. If you have PE such as diabetes wait until you get your monthly premium of $1500+ per person when you are placed in the high risk pool
Both my brother and sister are paying around 1500/month per person with no pre-existing (approximately three times their mortgage per month)... Both families had fairly major surgery last year, paid completely out of pocket, because the cost missed the deductible...
In my sister's case, $12k was paid out of pocket, followed by another $10k just the other day... Paying TWENTY_EIGHT THOUSAND DOLLARS per year out in insurance coverage which didn't pay a thin dime against another TWENTY TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS worth of surgery... Which they have to pay taxes on too, no less. That's north of EIGHTY THOUSAND DOLLARS paid out in two years, on a 46 year old woman with no pre-existing conditions.
It's dang near destroyed her household.
Older peoples premiums are going to sky rocket.
Oh bullcrap. Old people are all already qualified for medicare.
The only people who say HC is not a right are healthy people and people on the fringe or people with the very best gov't health care. I have never met a person who has come down with a dreaded disease or their close family member, say their 5 year old daughter say HC is not a right.
GOOD. Then let THEM crap out and become eligible for medicaid. Let THEM lose all their stuff. My sister's house is within 90 days of tipping over, whereupon they will lose all their stuff (and my brother is not far behind) in order for your precious 'government entitled right'. Almost four times the cost they would have paid out otherwise (and that they did pay out anyway).
SCREW the healthcare industry... And SCREW the government.
