ISIS “Prince” Killed in Early Morning Raid

About three years ago, a number of Islamic State group jihadists crossed into Lebanon from Syria and captured a border town called Arsal, only to be driven out of the town and into the surrounding hills a few weeks later, where they had since remained, holding a number of captives.

According to the Middle East Observer, that unit no longer poses a threat after the Lebanese army launched a dawn raid on their position that saw 10 militants arrested and their leader, an Islamic State emir, or “prince,” killed in the process.

The prince had been accused of ordering the kidnapping and killing of Lebanese army troops, and the 10 arrested militants were charged with weapons smuggling.
