All the conspiracy theorists should be giving some mea culpas.  He needs to go in for surgery.

Quote
Congressman Jason Chaffetz (R-UT) announced on Wednesday that he is taking an emergency medical leave of absence that will last up to four weeks. The representative, who chairs the House Oversight Committee, published an Instagram post detailing his reason for taking time off.

Almost 12 years ago, I shattered several bones in my foot which required 14 screws and a metal plate to repair. Yes, I wish I could say I was cliff diving in Mexico but the truth is I fell off a ladder while repairing something in my garage. The University of Utah doctors now recommend immediate surgery to remove all the hardware or I could be at risk for serious infection....

Stuff like that doesn't come out easily. I'm surprised he is only taking 4 weeks off.

FWIW I fractured my shoulder severely, nearly 4 years ago, and it was repaired with a plate and 10 screws.

Ten months later my doctor said the hardware needed to come out, since the screws were poking through and out of the bone.

So I understand his situation. I do not in the slightest believe he is being other than forthright, about his need for surgery.

If his doctor tells him to plan of 4 weeks, I accept that. Leave the man alone.

This might explain, at least partially, his pending resignation...

Not the normal type of screws that lead to early retirement in DC.
I disagree.  Circle gets the square.
