Love the dress on her and love her in yellow!!  IMHO, without the belt, the dress wouldn't have looked as sophisticated, which is I think the look she was going for as well.

My absolute favorite so far is Melania in this yellow dress.  Notice no belt and how the dress is more formal looking - a belt would have made it look more 'business' like.

I wish someone had seen fit to photograph the entire dress and not just waist-up.

Re: the belt controversy, I think Michelle was trying to create a waist with her belts, while Melania already has one.  Melania seems to be a little short-waisted, so the hugely thick belts, like the gold one, are overpowering.  But if they're not as wide, and the same color as the dress/suit, they look pretty good.

I still love that black sequined number she wore to, I think, Trump's first speech to Congress.

@CatherineofAragon

Michelle's belts remind me of an old horse collar. They look like one to me.

To show respect for Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull, Melania opted to wear yellow, Australia’s national color, and it was quite the dress. Melania donned a neon yellow one-shoulder Christian Dior dress...

The future FLOTUS is seen here wearing a yellow coordinated outfit with a butterfly theme.  Matching yellow sandals and pigtails complete the look.  ^-^

The suits and ties are pretty close.  :laugh: The ladies' garb, not so much.

This is from the fundraiser at Trump International in DC.  I think it was last night.  It was closed to the press so this may be the only photo   ^-^   That's a shame ... I would have loved to see the whole dress . . . and the color looks stunning!

I like it better than the wide belt ones for the most part. The belt emphasizes her short waist, and does not succeed in setting off her figure. This, however, and narrow or unobtrusive belts, does set off her figure well, and just looks better on her.

That Frank is pure genius on her part. If you know you have little chance of being noticed standing next to Melania, what is your next best option?
