Weather dampens U.S. job growth; unemployment rate dives to 4.5 percent

By Lucia Mutikani | WASHINGTON

U.S. job growth slowed sharply in March amid continued layoffs in the retail sector, but a drop in the unemployment rate to a near 10-year low of 4.5 percent suggested labor market strength remained intact.

Nonfarm payrolls increased by 98,000 jobs last month, the fewest since last May, the Labor Department said on Friday.

I'm sure Obama will be given credit for the good news by the media - if they even report it.

This is a terrible report!  The "unemployment" rate went down because more people left the workforce.  Jobs created in March were only 98,000.

However, one or three months do not a trend make.  We need more time and more "winning" before the rates will become relevant to Trump's presidency.
