GOP healthcare talks stall
By Peter Sullivan - 04/05/17 03:15 PM EDT

Rep. Patrick McHenry (R-N.C.), a member of House GOP leadership, said Wednesday that conservatives' proposals to reach a compromise on healthcare are a "bridge too far" to win support from colleagues.

McHenry, the chief deputy whip, told reporters that calls from the conservative House Freedom Caucus to allow states to apply for waivers to repeal ObamaCare protections for people with pre-existing conditions are a "bridge too far for our members" and can't get enough votes to pass.

That's a pretty fair compromise offer coming from the HFC, so I wouldn't mind if they'd sit tight on that for awhile and let the moderates squirm under the prospect of exchanges collapsing.

The GOP has no intention of actually ever repealing ACA or fixing the problems.

Soon @geronl their backs will be against the wall, obummercare will die by the end of this year for some states, SOMETHING will have to be done.
The HFC needs to stand STRONG! regardless of what @Jazzhead thinks.
