Senate panel advances Gorsuch to 'nuclear' showdown
By Alexander Bolton - 04/03/17 02:34 PM EDT

The Senate Judiciary Committee on Monday morning advanced the nomination of Supreme Court nominee Neil Gorsuch, setting up a bitter floor fight that will likely end with Republicans triggering the "nuclear option" to change Senate rules.

The committee voted along party lines, with all 11 Republicans voting for Gorsuch and all 9 Democrats voting against him.

Another concern with the nuclear option; yes, in 2013, Senate Democrats employed a series of procedural maneuvers to change the requirement to a simple majority for all Cabinet-level and judicial nominations, all except for those to the Supreme Court.

So...wouldn't the nuclear option have to again be changed in order to include nominations to SCOTUS??

Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly, do not claim to be wiser than you are.  Do not repay anyone evil for evil, but take thought for what is noble in the sight of all.  If it is possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all…do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
