Trump Declares War on Freedom Caucus in New Tweet: ‘We Must Fight Them’

Donald Trump escalated his simmering feud with the House Freedom Caucus with a new tweet Thursday morning. In the tweet, Trump urged fellow Republicans to rally against the recalcitrant Republican bloc.

“We must fight them,” Trump declared.

    The Freedom Caucus will hurt the entire Republican agenda if they don’t get on the team, & fast. We must fight them, & Dems, in 2018!

The Freedom Caucus played an integral role in derailing the Republican push to replace Obamacare with the American Health Care Act. The defeat served Trump with the first major legislative defeat of his presidency.

What should be understood is that repealing Obamacare is not the whole loaf. Without Obamacare there is still Medicaid and Medicare and a host of smaller programs. IOW, the FC is not riding a great steed with the Constitution as banner and God at their back.

If what the House Pubs come up with is a step in the right direction then we should take it and move on from there.
