Same shiite, different party making the same claims the architects of Obamacare made.

The only way any money is saved and uninsured reduced is to get government OUT of the health insurance market altogether and let the private sector handle it.

Any meddling by government will result in what ALWAYS results when government meddles and tries to 'fix' the boondoggles it straps around all our necks: more tyranny, more tax money, more misery, more bloated bureaucrats and the eternal life of yet another government program continues.

CBO: Millions would lose coverage under GOP healthcare plan
By Peter Sullivan - 03/13/17 04:09 PM EDT

The Congressional Budget Office projects that 14 million people will lose coverage by 2018 under the Republican ObamaCare replacement bill.

24 million would lose coverage by 2026.

The long-awaited analysis from the nonpartisan congressional scorekeeper is sure to shake up the debate over the measure, which is already facing sharp criticism from conservatives and many centrist Republicans.

Quote
CBO and JCT estimate that, in 2018, 14 million more people would be uninsured under the
legislation than under current law. Most of that increase would stem from repealing the
penalties associated with the individual mandate. Some of those people would choose not
to have insurance because they chose to be covered by insurance under current law only to
avoid paying the penalties, and some people would forgo insurance in response to higher
premiums.

No, they're not.   Obama promised that more people would be covered, and it would cost less.  The free lunch gimmick.  This is saying money will be saved, but that fewer people will be covered.  That's at least facially credible.

Sorry.  Misread the headline as 'Un-insured' given I just got off the thread about Trump traveling the countryside to promote it.

So taxpayer funding of 24 million people costs 337 Billion eh?

Like I said - if they were serious about 'fixing' ObamaCare - they would get the Beast completely OUT of healthcare.

But they won't.  Because as Reagan said - a government program is the closest thing to eternal life we will see on this earth.

The CBO is just wrong.  They never score taxes dynamically.  In this case, the vast majority of the 24 million end up in better, low cost plans.  Repeal without replace would have the number of uninsured going to '50 million', by the CBO methodology.
