I have been a Cruz supporter for a very long time and continue to support him; he has put this country first before himself.  When others say negative things about Cruz when he's the one person that is lending his support towards 'their' Great Orange one, I have to consider the source and remember the lack of logic that seems to be an ongoing attribute of those who worship him.  I still remain cautiously optimistic with Trump. In reality, the wall is proposed and not built yet, his AG has recused himself, his national security advisor has stepped down, his Muslim ban was shot down and his revamped rather than repealed healthcare plan isn't being received very warmly. Trump is fighting an uphill battle and the one person who is standing by him so far and defending him is Cruz.  Quite frankly, IMHO, if it weren't for Cruz ... we'd have President Clinton instead of President Trump.  This country is damn lucky to have Senator Cruz.  Count your blessings!!

If Cruz is willing to support and try to help Trump in spite of everything (and there was a butt load of everything), we should appreciate it.

Cruz is like 500 times smarter than Trump, so I hope Trump listens carefully to what Cruz has to say at the dinner.  Cruz is seeing too many flaws in the health care revision.

Ironic that the dems forced the entire document to be read aloud but when Obamacare was passed there wasn't even a bill to be seen .... just an outline.  How the heck did that happen?

During my lifetime I have watched many people, try to lead. It is much more, and different, from a contest over who is the "smartest."

For example, a wonky professor type will drone on, and on, like a filibuster, and wind up losing most of his audience.

Alternately an football coach type, or a drill sergeant type, will issue some emotional points, and people are ready to follow.

Effective leadership is situational, in terms of who the followers are, and what the mission is.

If you want to build a refinery or a skyscraper, better have ALL of the disciplines lined up, ready to go on schedule, systems in place, etc.

And you had better have an effective leader. The leaders will usually NOT be the policy wonk.

SMART is situational.

I really don't know what you want.  I have been one of the most fervent Trump defenders here since he was elected.  I sure didn't want him, but I want him to succeed.  It won't be easy...he has a lot of enemies, including himself.
