Sounds reasonable, to me.
.
Perhaps alternating odd/even days would work. LOLOL. Or odd/even months.
.
It is nice, though, that some have provided rather strong hints at where their values and allegiances lie.
.
Some  I'd already guessed at, as you know.
.

I think we should only be psychotic on the even months. Psychotic on the odd days/months sounds a little odd. Probably more than these people can handle.

LOLOL.

I'm not convinced that 'these folks' can handle much in such spheres.

There is sooooooo much 'knee-jerk' aversion to even beginning to face the evidence about such issues, forces, topics--it's sad.

They might wish far sooner than any of us would want--that they had paid more attention along the way . . . when they are having to make life/death decisions in a context that's utterly chaotic and well populated with horrific and extremely unprecedented creatures and forces.

Happened to be looking, earlier today, at the mountains above Hobart, Tasmania . . . looked inviting. Sigh. LOL.

Ahh, but I live in surpassing beauty right here where I am. If I never get 100 miles from right here where I am, it will be fine with me. I am partial to the mountains of New Zealand... But then I look out my window.

Yeah, I like NZ mountains, too.

Your area . . . Yellowstone . . . is a bit concerning.

Actually, the whole Northern hemisphere is more than a little concerning. LOL.

But then I don't  like a lot of the  critters in Oz, either.

And, when China takes over Oz, they would probably insure that included Tasmania, too. LOL.

Nah... Yellowstone is a long way away from here... providing the likely eastward weather track. We might feel it, but that's about it. I'd be more worried if Mt Ranier or Mt. Hood go off.

Yeah, but where you going to go? My folks have land (pretty big land) in Costa Rica, so we could bug out there... But what's a mountain hillbilly got to do with that? I can't walk off into the tropical jungle. I'd be dead in a week.

But I can walk off here. With 3000 ft of bedrock under my feet, and high country that is nigh on impassable... Not to mention more guns per square inch than anywhere on the planet.

Nah. If the good things that are America go down, there will be no where to run. I am better off right here.

Sounds reasonable.

Folks going to other countries seem to ignore social realities. They'd need to have been there a decade or 3 AND to have worked their way into some extremely secure mutual relationships with locals who have some power AND who are trustworthy--seriously trustworthy.

When push comes to shove, the locals will likely be happy to offer up the expats for whatever price of a cup of coffee is offered, at the time.

. . . or just kill them to get them out of the way and take their goods and land.

Sounds like you have a good enough location. Though I think you might want to keep track of Mt Baker, too.

I was in Spokane when the ash fell from Mt St Helens. Dark at 11:00 in the morning was . . . quite an experience. As was staying inside and not starting the car for some days.

We'd probably be alright. My BIL is native, and from the small village where the land is... He is El Jefe around there, and has been extremely good to them (as I have been told). Loyalty would not be a problem. But everything else down there will kill you.

Yep. The Rockies, the High Plains (WY), the desert, and the high desert... Maybe the Ozarks... Other than that, the big swamps. I'd say Appalachia, but there's way too many people there - I think they'd be overrun (No place east of the Big Muddy). But if you live in those good places, and have the knowledge to walk off, You'll probably stand the best chance.

sure. all of those free standing cone volcanoes west of here (and a couple here too)....

I know all about it... It was my graduation from high school. Had to move it inside. There was 3-4" of ash everywhere. I remember plowing it off the feed lot and driveway. Jumpy horses all stuffed in the barn... Washing hay to get the ash off before we fed them. I wore a wet bandana on my face for two weeks. That was a bucket of suck.

FWIW, I am probably less than a 100 miles from Yellowstone--as the magma flies. That sucker decides to blow I ain't running away. I'm running straight for the epicenter.

No need to run anywhere... 100 miles is in the dead zone, I think. So relax.

Yeah, flying magma, pyroclastic blasts & flows etc are not all that friendly to humans and other living things.

Sounds great. I hope they all do well . . . at what elevation is the land and how far from the coast and from the nearest hazardous volcano?

British Royalty has nothing to do with actual power. The others you mentioned are merely rich. I tend to disagree that the bushes are in the top 5.

@bigheadfred

The Bush Crime Family are involved at about the same level as a family butler. Prescott Bush Sr married into the Harriman family. They bought him a seat in the US Senate for falling on his sword over laundering Nazi money during WW-2.

Yeah, they have made a LOT of money and have a lot of influence through marriage, but they are stricktly second string. The big boys and girls are never mentioned and their photos are never published. People like Bush, the Kennedy Klan, the Gores, etc, etc, etc are just their public faces to draw attention away from them.

One of the big players, IMO, is the House of Saud. I think they pull the strings of the bush clan, more than the bush clan be a top contender.

@bigheadfred

IF they had any grass, they could make a phone call and the Bush Brats would come over and cut it for them. It was the Sauds that bought Boy Jorge out of bankruptcy in the oil bidnez and then hired him at a 6 figure salary as an "Advisor". That's  how he got the money to buy the Texas Rangers and kick off his political career.

WTH hires someone that went bankrupt in that business to work as an advisor?

Is that a trick question? Ok, nothing ventured...the Sauds?

I, too, have trouble believing the Bush family is as high on the food chain as that source believes.

However, I've not rubbed shoulders or anything else with such characters and don't plan to.

Evidently Granddaddy Bush was high enough up to be a major player supporting Hitler. Could easily be merely a useful idiot stooge of the real elite, though.
