 Sessions could face legal ordeal over testimony

Lawyers say he's at greater risk if a special counsel takes over Trump-Russia probe

Even if Attorney General Jeff Sessions didn't commit perjury during his confirmation hearing, Sessions could still be in other kinds of legal trouble for failing to tell his Senate colleagues that he met the Russian ambassador on two occasions during the heat of the presidential campaign.

"It is, at best, very misleading testimony," said Richard Painter, formerly the top ethics lawyer in President George W. Bush's White House. "I don't go so far as to say that it's perjury, but there is a lesser charge of failing to provide accurate information to Congress."

We are truly on the road to becoming Soviet.

Next up will be the executions of politicians who fall out of favor with the Politburo and the leadership.

Ironic that this is over a meeting with a Russian Ambassador, done while acting in the official capacity on the Armed Services Committee.

BTW, how come these same seething media masses and Democrat Marxists hyping hysteria over this are still totally unconcerned about the secret nuke deal Obama made with the Mullahs in Iran?

Nor are they apparently concerned, or even curious, about Obama aiding and abetting and siding with Hamas and ISIS/ISIL.  Amazing hypocrisy on their part, as usual.

IMHO, this is going to backfire big time against the Dems. All they're doing is playing to their dwindling base...there's no Tea Party like groundswell coming in 2018.

I didn't vote for Trump, but I know bovine scatology when I see it. Never been to Peoria, but I'll bet it's not playing well there.

The American voters are irrelevant in the minds of the Statists in power.  They know that their people are spread throughout the government and the military in lifetime positions that do not change.  Presidents come and go - the kinds of people fundamentally transforming us are the cogs installed by Clinton, Obama and the GOP Establishment that run the deep guts in the machine that keeps the beast running and feeding.

The question was an attempt to lead the witness to a conclusion. Sessions answered to that conclusion.
He did not meet with the Russians while serving a role in the campaign.
