You sound a bit nutty here.  I define good as people who live good lives.  Both 41 and 43 have been good family men with lifelong love for their wives.  They have both served their country well.
HWB was a war hero.  There  is no corruption in that family at all, unless you describe corruption as somebody you don't agree with on everything.

Good thread Don.  Not defending Bush, he turned out to be a squish , even though I voted for him and all the others, including W's dad both times.

Note that Trump has changed the rules of engagement and we captured the southern most bridge on the on Tigris river in Mosul.  Bush and Obama had ROE that hampered the effort in Iraq.

And Trump is not talking about Iraq much either, except his restating commitment to defeating ISIS (not ISIL)

Emjay, I hope I didn't give the impression that I was turning against the guy.  I voted for him for governor, and twice for Pres.  But - I knew what we were getting to a great extent.  I did not anticipate the vast increase in federal spending and I didn't anticipate that GW would just slow federal enforcement of migrant laws to the extent that he did.  I figured he would be a fairly non-harmful middle of the road kind of president and one who would be vastly superior to Al Gore or John Kerry.  I was surprised by how far left he went.

So was I.  In fact, his entire second term surprised the hell out of me.  It was almost like there were "two" Bushes.  He changed.  And not for the better.

Everyone around here that keeps crying "fake news" on every article that's not 100% glowing about Trump or where the headline doesn't exactly match the story star in the role of Peter.

And when there actually is a case of honest to God fake news (think Rather-gate) no one is going listen and or believe it.

Putting aside your snide  @Emjay    --- Everyone I know fits your definition of good people.  I wouldn't want any of them running the country. 

A good man does not always make a good leader.  Just ask the survivors of Bush's ill-conceived foray into Iraq.  Just take a look at what has filled Saddam's void.

A good man does not guarantee a leader strong enough to match a belligerent press and strengthen the brand of the political party he leads in the process.  Just ask the beneficiary:  Barack Obama.
