Wild old Texans! Sad what happened though :( and all for nothing because he was being scammed the entire time.

"According to investigators, it was a heated argument over President Trump’s travel ban that drove Greiner to retrieve a shotgun from his garage and shoot Shipley three times, once in the head and twice in the torso, killing him instantly.

Shipley’s family say Raymond was involved in an online relationship with a woman from one of the countries included in Trump’s travel ban, making it difficult for the two to meet up for a vacation they had planned for later this summer."

Texas has become a minority majority state, prosperous state but who knows how it will look in 20 years. Lots of Californians moving in too.

two octogenarians that have feuded for many years, one gets shot and a Seattle newspaper is the one that reports on it saying it is caused by a Trump travel ban as one cannot see a girlfriend?

Anyone else see any problems with this scenario?

Well the travel ban does seem to be at the center of this particular argument.

Those damn Californians, is there nothing they aren't responsible for! Your drum might be a little worn from the same old tired beat.
Here is and interesting factoid:

Surname meaning for "Greiner"
nickname for a cantankerous or quarrelsome person, from Middle High German griner ‘squabbler’, ‘quarreler’, an agent derivative of grin ‘loud cry’, ‘shout’.

That old guy took his name too damn seriously.

Californication ain't a word for no reason. Not sure what the problem is. Maybe the amnesty of 1984? White Flight from the Golden State? It's been written about, it may have even turned states like Colorado blue; so please, no complaints.

There is no doubt in my mind, California is probably the richest, most scenic state in the US.

I'm from New Mexico, I know what a liberal population can do to a state, it's that easy.  5th largest state, it certainly is not the whole state but most of the population still makes it that way.

Well, I would suggest that the travel ban was nothing but a spark to light a fire that has been brewing with a couple of oil-timers for a long, long time.

Here's a link to today's online copy of the local newspaper for Canyon City TX.  http://www.canyonnews.com/

In it, this altercation did not even make police reports, as the last report is dated January 25, 2017.

A NW liberal rag published this as it supports its liberal agenda, and not much else.

One other thing:  The other interesting fact is the original Canyon City exists at the bottom of Canyon Lake which was flooded in 1964.  With Scuba equipment, one can still see it.

I'll second the scenic part, but rich can mean many things like history, wealth, etc.

If you are talking about per capita income, they are close but not the wealthiest

Scenic, yes it is, though other states have as much or more beauty, richest?, eh, all those who can are leaving and much as I love the climate and the scenery I would leave too if I could. I can't though, I take care of my mother and mu kids and grandkids are here and I won't divorce my wife just so I can leave. I'm just tired of California being blamed for everything liberal, which is patently ridiculous if one just looks at what is going on in other states, hell I'm surprised by the crap that goes on in supposedly rock solid conservative states, oh you get excuses like those are college or university towns, well Bolshevik to that! I see the insanity has more than a foothold in Texas, Arizona and New Mexico. California is just ahead of the curve with Hispanics, they, and not just the illegals have moved to all the other states and they will always put La Raza ahead of America. Then let's look at BLM compare to what is happening in other states California is flat out peaceful. Nope, every state has issues with racists, liberals, socialists, you know.........democrats and no way in hell did they all come from California. I will tell you though, if some natural disaster flushed Sacramento, San Francisco and the Silicon Valley I would not be unhappy.

Hear, Hear...

Many "Californian's" aren't Californian's at all. This state was invaded by lefties like Locust to healthy fertile fields and not all that long ago. It also wasn't always broke. George Deukmejian had a state tax surplus and sent it back to taxpayers and taxes were much lower then...

'Ahead of the curve?'  What is that supposed to mean?  The state is one big sanctuary city where illegals are welcomed in so they can migrate to other places in the US.

If you wished to view a place that is even more 'Hispanic' than California, look at this map.  Shows Texas has a lot of counties compared to one for California where Spanish is the predominant language spoken.

The high school I went to in Austin 50 years ago was almost 50% Mexican.

2000 census, it will be very interesting to see the results in 2020, but of course, the illegals will always take part right?  Back in the 90's I had a lot of employees leaving California for Tennessee, Kentucky, the entire East coast and they weren't alone, yes California is a head of the curve but Texas is half way to California's level of illegals and they have a growing population in other states.

http://political-issues.insidegov.com/stories/11847/states-with-the-most-undocumented-immigrants#Intro

Until we remove all illegals, I just don't think it will happen, we will continue to see states where there is more and more control going to liberals and racial division.

@GtHawk

If you really want to upset the Texans do a little research on their muslim population and its rate of growth in Texas compared to the rest of the country.

People don't want hard answers, they want easy excuses. If you ask people where the most muslims live, 9 times out of 10 they'll say Michigan without a moment's thought. Its not true today and never has been true but its a popular belief and popular belief doesn't require facts. Its based on the fact that there is a large concentration of them in one spot. There are a lot of middle easterners in Michigan but the vast majority of them are Christians. They've been coming to Northern Ohio and Southern Michigan for about a century. Names like Danny Thomas, Helen Thomas, Jamie Farr, Kasey Kasem etc are all examples of that early Christian migration from the ME.

I fully understand your irritation with ignorance.
